At Heritage Landscapes, design is never separate from the land or from the way you live. Our work is rooted in Marin, Sonoma, SF, and Napa, where no two sites are the same and no successful plan begins without listening first. Each design is custom built from the ground up to honor the property, the people, and what’s possible.
From “What If” to Walkthrough
Our process starts with a conversation, then a site walk. We listen closely, reading the light, the grade, and how you hope to live in the space. From there, we develop a tailored design that considers how the area looks, how it performs, and how it grows.
We charge a flat design fee that includes the consultation, a tailored plan, and a detailed construction estimate. Because our design work is deeply integrated with construction, we offer it exclusively as part of a full landscape transformation, not as a standalone service.
We use a combination of:
Hand-rendered plans and CAD-based layouts for spatial clarity
Select use of 2D renderings for layout and structure
Ongoing refinement through collaborative walkthroughs and
client input
High-touch client communication with fast proposal turnarounds (typically 72 hours for projects under $50K)
What We Design
