What started as a family passion has grown into a purpose-driven company, shaping outdoor spaces that inspire, restore, and stand the test of time. It started with a simple idea: that outdoor spaces should nourish the people who live in them. Over 35 years ago, Jan, a mother with a love for plants and purpose, began designing edible gardens for families across the Bay Area. It was never about prestige. It was about connection, care, and making life outside more meaningful.
That spirit still runs through every project we take on. A lot has grown since then—but the heart of it hasn’t changed.
A New Chapter, Same Deep Roots
Now led by second-generation owners Dave and Almora, Heritage Landscapes has evolved from boutique gardens into one of the Bay Area’s most respected full-service landscape firms—working on large-scale residential projects, complex builds, and long-term maintenance partnerships across Marin, Napa, Sonoma, and San Francisco.
While our projects have grown in size and complexity, our values remain the same. We’re still hands-on. Still deeply connected to the land. Still building relationships that last longer than any one job.
